I love this author. this was the first audio book I've heard too so I was a bit weary, hoping it wouldn't wreck a good thing. however, the narrator is great at what he does and is the perfect fit for reading this aloud.

I've become a huge fan of the author over the last few years. I've read most of his books and put the Mongol series at the top without question.

This one is less exciting with a slow steady pace, but still very well written and well narrated.
