À propos de cet audio
Wildly original, funny, and moving, The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August is an extraordinary story of a life lived again and again from World Fantasy Award-winning author Claire North.
Harry August is on his deathbed. Again.
No matter what he does or the decisions he makes, when death comes, Harry always returns to where he began, a child with all the knowledge of a life he has already lived a dozen times before. Nothing ever changes. Until now. As Harry nears the end of his 11th life, a little girl appears at his bedside. "I nearly missed you, Doctor August", she says. "I need to send a message".
This is the story of what Harry does next, and what he did before, and how he tries to save a past he cannot change and a future he cannot allow.

It turns out there are other people like him, both that came before and that come after. Messages can be sent between the centuries by somebody who is young in talking to somebody who is old and about to die.
That is really the setup for this story. I can't do more without adding spoilers.
The narration is good. The narrators american accent isn't great but fortunately he only has to do it for a very short period. The story moves along very well. It spends some time giving you the setup, then the investigation and finally the nemesis. I liked how every move is considered as part of the long game. How Harry gathers information in one life, and in order to not draw suspicion upon himself, doesn't act on it until the next life. It some ways this book is reminiscent of "The 7 ½ Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle"
Not really time travel

Harry August is a Kalachakra - doomed to be born again, and again, in the same location (the women's washroom of the Berwick-upon-Tweed station) with the memories of his past lives.
We meet Harry, in his 11th life waiting to die, when a young girl visits with a message, the other end of the world is coming, and it's getting closer every day.
The novel nearly lost me - the first third of the book was a retelling of Harry's past lives. Its slow but introduces key players for the later chapters. When the novel gets going, it's pretty fun, with a world ending mystery to solve and vilians to outsmart.
I can relate to how Harry went about living his various lives. I think many of us would approach the early years in a similar fashion. He goes through some sh*t and manages to keep to his morales.
This is a book for fans of slice-of-life, and time travel genre's.
