Intriguing World, Poor Writing

The worldbuilding in this work is quite good. The narration is excellent. But the writing and characters are poor and could have used a lot more development. Hopefully this author grows in his style and characters because he clearly has great ideas!

pretty bad

The author writes characters like they are all teens in heat. They cant go 2 min without pinning after a member of the opposite sex even when gathered after a fight to be executed. The invading army is a joke, torturing and toying with ppl in horrible ways while acting flippantly just to be seen as evil by the readers. If there was a point to the actions and the scenes didn't drag on forever it might be impactful writing but its so badly done i couldn't sympathise with the victims. The heavy religious theme is pretty annoying as well since its spoiled in the synopsis that the religion is based on lies. This should have been discovered organically as to not spoil the nuance of religious debate.

Gore

Started well, but then the story got lost in the gore. Couldn't keep going. Ugh.
