À propos de cet audio
In The Hands-Off Manager, Steve Chandler and Duane Black offer a new vision for all managers. With stories, examples, and vibrant activities for the reader to practice, this book shows any manager - new or seasoned - how to coach and mentor employees rather than hover over their shoulders and goad them into action.
In this system, each employee's strengths are honored and honed in a climate of partnership and mutual goal-setting. Chandler, whose 100 Ways to Motivate Others is a best-selling favorite with small and large businesses alike, has called The Hands-Off Manager his "most original work to date" because it finally solves the age-old problem of getting the best performance out of people without frustrating yourself and them.

Positive Vibes - a new way of thinking
I am not clear on why but it resonated with me. But, I believe I know deep down inside that a manager is many things and not just the narrow scope I had first envisioned. I always thought being a manager meant something different and what I initially thought when I was becoming a manager was that I was a rule follower and policy maker. That supervision and a few verbal feedback was going to cut it.
This book really tries to develop the inner calling of a leader, mentor and coach. Some basic recruiting concepts, but non the less good practice - stop fixing employees rather “fit” employees to the right job.
I also like how they highlight 3 action items after each chapter to capture what was discussed and to put the new concepts into practice.
I have already listened to it twice through because it also provides me with a positive way of thinking and operating at the office.
