More emotional then expected
I expected a standard gay romance but this was so much more. An exploration of addiction, the meaning of love, and whether forgiveness is possible.

Narrator Antony Ferguson gave a stunning performance focussing on the meaningful message of addiction and recovery. He skillfully extracted each emotion and laid it down for us to hear the message. He gave each character a voice that fit their personalities. They were easily distinguishable and easy to follow.
The author has managed to write a story that has been written thousands of times before, without using the same or cliched words. The love between these men is astoundingly beautiful. Monroe’s recovery ebbed and flowed through all the steps of sobering up, facing his personal demons, and triumphed over them, by facing them. Listeners with or without a background of the disease of addiction will be able to enjoy and appreciate the romance blossoming while Monro is on his journey of recovery.
The author carefully approached the subject by not promoting or is in any way being derogatory towards any specific recovery program. The plotline was gently woven with the love Eric had for Monroe. The undeniable facts, evident in the realistic representation of alcoholism and the disease of addiction, that it doesn’t matter who you are and whether you are rich or poor, one is too many and a thousand will never be enough.
I do recommend this audiobook.

Another winner!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I love happy endings. It was entertaining with silly drama.
