À propos de cet audio
Jack Jenkins is a normal college student living in a world filled with super powered beings. Until one fateful day in the library throws his whole life into chaos. An ancient and beguiling cosmic visitor bonds with him, granting him extraordinary abilities. The only catch: he has to earn his powers like he was in a video game. And he has to learn on the fly.
Because right now a terrifying crime boss is moving in on Jack’s neighborhood. Jack has to do everything he can to stop him and protect his friends, family, and that cute girl from the library. He’ll have to level up as quickly as possible, because only his wits and fists stand between the Iron Count and total destruction.
But can he take down the Iron Count while balancing school, work, and some unconventional relationships? He’s sure going to try, as he steps into the Hero Game.
The Hero Game is a spicy LitRPG adventure for discerning adults.

Vapid but entertaining male fantasy
This book was clearly designed at a young male audience - the kind who grew up watching porn. If that line is a turn off in any way, you should turn back now - this book will disappoint you.
The Hero Game is short, but it's entertaining. There's a plot and it moves along at a decent pace. The main character is a young man who accidentally gets the power source of the world's greatest superhero - but said power source is a living creature who only grants power as her bond with him increases. She has a goal, and that's to ensure her species survives... by her host having lots of kids. To that end, she rewards him for having sex. As the book progresses, the main character ends up in sex scenes with four different attractive women - and the stage is clearly being set for more (including hints at his adoptive mother, which is... ugh).
The main character himself is a likeable person, a humble and well-meaning university student who delivers pizzas to pay the bills. He goes from being not interested in superheroes to devoting his life to being one awfully fast, but I guess I can't blame him - superpowers are cool, after all, and it's helped him get a lot more sex than his ordinary life.
I thought the book was vapid fun. It wasn't great writing, but it wasn't trying to be. It promised a sex romp in the superhero genre, and it delivered. I do worry that the amount of sex increased over the book - it makes me worry that book 2 might be a lot less plot than the first. And it would be nice if the girls were more three-dimensional. At times, they feel like they're characters in porn more than actual people, which is off-putting.
Hannah Trusty did a fantastic job as narrator. Her male voices aren't bad (always hard for a female narrator), and she did a fantastic job with all the female characters, helping to make them feel different without relying on accents to differentiate them. I'd listen to her work again!
