À propos de cet audio

After conquering all of Hesse, creating a devilish new dungeon, and establishing himself as the villain that everyone loves to hate, Lucas decides to continue his quest to create new content by taking over as a dungeon master on the mainland.

Unlike the dominant force on the island he left behind, however, the once-mighty Imperium only controls a single capital city in a rapidly shrinking territory, leaving a group of scheming nobles to bicker among themselves and fight over scraps of land. Seen as an upstart and rabble-rouser, Lucas is instantly shunned and must struggle to find somewhere to begin building his new base. Now, after declaring himself the enemy of every man in the city, and with every player in the region hunting his head to claim the bounty placed there, Lucas has to decide which allies he can trust as he fights to stay alive long enough to establish a new lair and gain a foothold in a hostile land.

Introducing new monsters, a curious new group member, and flashy new spells, this gamelit litRPG adventure follows Lucas as he writes his own story as the greatest villain the game world has ever known.

"Another amazing chapter of the Heroic Villain story from Charles Dean. An enthralling story by an author who just keeps hitting homeruns!" (Dave Willmarth, writer of the Greystone Chronicles)

This book is brought to you from the author of the litRPG series War Aeternus, The Bathrobe Knight, and The Merchant of Tiqpa.

not as strong as the first

still good but felt slow and then very abrupt in its action and climaxes. Also as a stand alone it has very little resolution. So I am hopeful that the third will tie up some of the threads that are still dangling from this one.

A fiction within other fictions that rings true.

I like the idea of a fantastic video game. I like the idea of interesting relatable characters. I like the idea of characters written so well you swear after the read you had a sunset beer with them on your west facing porch. I like the creativeness of magic in stories. I like when a characters is powerful but the limitations they face seem realistic and consistent. I like the idea of having some sort of guess of the interpersonal relationships of not just the main characters with the protagonist but with each other as well. I like all of these and Charles Dean delivers them to you like delicious smoked pulled pork on a silver platter. Charles Dean does what I think is so damn hard to do for many writers, the sequel. A sequel is a work of art because of the balancing act of building on the first work but creating enough new stuff and turning it up to 11 without breaking the story like some sort of narrative soufflé. I can't suggest this audio book without saying that this book is fun but also that it and it's predecessor touched me in a wound created by recent tragedy and that it was a good release to almost "talk" with the protagonist through the narrative.

What a wonderful Performance!

The stage is set for our Heroic Villain Lucas to take on the world before him. what an exciting book, kept me hooked the entire time. Second verse better then the first! I can't wait for the next book!

too bad

It's sad to say this one is a miss for me. The first was enjoyable minus the sad backstory that's over emphasized. This one is kinda torture porn. Most characters are depicted poorly to justify there mutilation which isn't an instant deal breaker for me but in this book it's way overboard.

On top of that the harem king of women bane of men thing is lame. I hate when an author feels the need to live out his sexual fantasies thru the main character. His monologues are cheesy villain lines yet they make every girl wet for him. When he does this on a massive scale it totally destroyed the book for me. God mode seduction of NPCs maybe of players come on. That's what in any game we'd call a game breaking skill that destroys the challenge and fun of any game/book. Also who could trust any one turned by a few terrible lines.

Lastly the harem thing would probably be more interesting if buddy wasn't still pinning after his dead wife and ruining every happy victory moment with boring reflection of lost love or of past joy gone forever. I dont know his wife and the author assumes your gonna feel for his loss which I stopped doing midway thru the first audiobook when they played that bad music everytime he thought of her. Doubt I'd pick up a third book as it's likely to go full harem godking.
