A well thought out Plot and character
The misfortune the character suffers through its very reasonable considering the society and world setting of the novel, but it is a bit typical tough life back story. That being said you wont be suffering through a self pity party story, as the character is mostly focused on his future and what he wants to accomplish. I would describe the MC as chaotic Neutral, as he goes out of his way to help everyday people and only ever is petty with antagonists. He responds to things in a way that some readers might find on the evil end of the scale but I think its fairly reasonable given the setting. As it stands , the character could be considered a hero or a villain with time but the jury is still out. Will read future books to find out.
A+ for unique character development and steering clear of worn out archetypes.

Review of the first book, Richard Reviews
As a magic genre and magic battling genre, I find this book to hold a lot of twists and turns, I find it hard to understand the poor review that was left on here as I found the story to be written very well for those said genres
That said their could of been more in-depth story telling being done inside the story but it all comes together as a whole near the end of this story, looking forward to the beginning of the next book to hopefully wrap around the last few questions that still exists from this book, but it’s what makes a person excited for the next book, if everything was easy to guess then their would be no suspense in this book, once completed the next book I will update my review thanks for reading this review

the Main character is evil, but played as a protagonist
to start, I just want to warn you, this is a weird book. the tldr: the main character is evil, but the book seems not to know that.
there will be spoilers in this review, I'll try to mitigate that, but this is one of the oddest books I've listened to.
the main character recreates slavery with magic, and acts like it's hardly a thing. tortures people with magic. watches his wife with her secret lover to force himself though enough pain to gain superpowers. threatens, abuses, and assaults his wife. lies. steals. and so much more.
but it's all played straight. like, the writer does not nod to the fact the MC is actually just evil. and it's kinda insideous how it is never outright said. I'm halfway through the third book in the series and I'm still waiting for the author to look at the fifth wall and admit the main character has become irredeemable, as what he does in the next books continues along the same lines, just more extreme.

don't buy
the whole story is a piss off his wife is a whore and he doesn't have the competence to do anything. also the story is split between so many people it might as well be a collection of shity short stories.
