The second book in the series was phenomenal. I had stumbled across the first book as a free read on Audible And despite its short length, it completely enthralled me. Which then prompted me to buy book 2, which was on sale at the time I guess I’m just lucky that way and while I still wish these books were longer. The character building and relationship development are pretty on point. The books are also well balanced with action, romance and political drama. Percy has a fantastic male lead. I enjoyed his graceful strong persona, mixed with some feminine flair. And well, his love interest is your standard stoic, strong silent type. It’s a classic trope for a reason. Once again, the voice talent was truly astounding. Bring all the characters alive with their unique personalities. Book 2 also gets a strong recommend for me. I can’t wait for the next two books to release on Audible. I’m strongly Looking forward to listen. I do hope, however that these stories come together at some point I’m not sure how I feel about the idea of these strong, dedicated family members being permanently separated from each other and no emotional whiplash from it. I would like to see the family come together once again in one of these sequel stories.
