And Izzy knew the stakes, so she makes it easy and slips though his fingers.
But that's before Johnny realizes Izzy moved to town to escape danger that's been swirling around her.
And that's why Johnny decides to wade in.
That and the fact Izzy Forrester makes breakfast with a canary singing on her shoulder and fills out tight dresses in a way Johnny Gamble cannot get out of his head.

hard to finish

Sweet Baby Jesus, Johnny Gamble!
Normally, I'm not big on romance novels...but I do indulge in them from time to time. They're my guilty pleasure. Shh. Don't tell anyone.
This one started off strong. Hot nd heavy...enviable. Then there was a character introduced that had the potential to royally mess up the lovefest. I kept trying to predict what would happen next...all pathways, good. bad, whathaveyou. So I repeated to myself (like I always do), "it's a romance...it'll be a happy ending". I wasn't disappointed.
There were plot points that kept it interesting amongst all the hotness right up until the end...but lemme tell you, I was thrilled to be listening to a story without a surprise ending...a cliffhanger....a massive disappointment...or the death of a beloved character. Johnny Gamble (altho not my physical type) had me at hello! lol
My only irritation (nd it's super minor) was the author's constant use of the word "query" nd all it's forms. Get this girl a thesaurus!
If you need a little reprise from life...some super kinky emotional sex....nd a sampling of the fairytale relationship, this is the one! But be careful....it may spark up your inner sex kitten! 🐱

LOVE

Great story, annoying male narration
Story is good, as they always are with Kristen Ashley. I was just really annoyed with the male narrator as he was putting way to much "emotion" where it really wasn't need. Trying too hard. It's a pity because Lance Greenfield really has a nice deep voice.
I would still recommend this book though :) Loved Johnny Gamble!!!

Relate-able
This story and narrator was a lot of fun. You can actually visualize this entire book and its characters taking place in the here and now in a small town near you. I was a little weary when I looked at the cover - Hookup usually means a one nighter - Motor Oil series -makes me think of grease monkey's. Little did I know how much I would enjoy the combination.

Mediocre at best
I bought this book after reading the reviews and I was sorely disappointed. The story started with great promise, but as it progressed, it was, very unrealistic. I just could not understand the attraction between the main protagonists. Further I felt the intimate scenes lacked chemistry and whatever else that would make this a great love story. Overall, I kept at the book because I had bought it and with the hopes that it may redeem itself at some point. It sadly didn't... #Audible1
