Another enjoyable Koontz novel
Thoroughly enjoyed it like most Dean Koontz novels. I'm sure some of his commentary on current events will rub some left wing listeners who love big government the wrong way but I think it's a accurate take on where we are at in 2023.

As usual, this talented author has supplied us with a story of corruption of men who hold and wield power over the every day man. Any who survive do not succeed in returning to their simple lives but must start a new one.
Dean Koontz always manages to hold my interest with each new novel he writes.

What was that about?
Warning to those who have been mislead about this so-called horror novel; The inane horror is a teeny-tiny element in this rambling story that is all over the place. To make matters worse, I think Dean Koontz fancies himself an eloquent philosopher with his incessant pontificating about the nature of humankind. Squeezed between the author's blathering ideology is a discursive storyline with characters who are so predictable it is ridiculous. As a matter of fact, a couple of those characters seem to have been thrown into the plot for no particular reason. The narration isn't bad although N. Naudus' tendency to almost whisper makes a challenging listen. All in all, I cannot recommend this book which, in my humble opinion, is a meandering mess.

Disappointed by a happy ending.
There were some instances where I was as entertained by this book as by most of Mr. Koontz’s others, but in all I wouldn’t have recognized it as his work(Michael J., notwithstanding). There was nothing wrong with the voice actors performance, but the disappointing material left them with little to work with. Please read Mr. Koontz’s books, even this one (from a library) but perhaps don’t start with this one.

Disappointing!
I LOVE Dean Koontz but this book was a very hard read. In fact, I only listened for two hours and had to restart a few times. The narrator was boring, the story went nowhere, and I could not focus. I would give this one a hard pass......Going to send it back.

Very Disappointing
I'm a fan of Dean Koontz and was looking forward to reading this book, but I unfortunately couldn't even make it halfway through. It started off promising but just turned into utter nonsense. A complete waste of a credit.
