À propos de cet audio
Get this biographical bundle and learn about four fascinating historical figures in The Hundred Years’ War!
King Philip VI was the first French King of the famous House Valois, and he inherited France at the height of its power. Unfortunately, it wouldn’t remain that way for long. His fierce rivalry with King Edward of England destabilized the region, threw France into turmoil, and launched one of Europe's most infamous wars: the Hundred Years’ War.
The Black Prince was born Edward of Woodstock, heir to the English throne. Although being king wasn’t in this prince’s destiny, he made his mark on history by being one of the most feared knights of the Hundred Years’ War.
Joan of Arc was a national hero, who at such a young age brought France back from the brink of defeat and galvanized the French resistance to the English invaders. Her heroism is only beaten by her courage, and her life story meets a tragic end.
Charles V showed tremendous potential and intelligence from a young age. As his father and grandfather continued to weaken France and ruin the prestige of their royal house with their misguided chivalry, Charles’ arrival on the scene couldn’t have come at a better time. King Charles worked tirelessly to regain France’s lost glory and played a pivotal role in the Hundred Years’ War.
