What if wishes really did come true? What if you were a little girl who wanted nothing more than an imaginary friend with whom you could share all of your secrets? What if, when you grew up and moved away, your imaginary friend didn’t?
After inheriting a 400-year-old family estate from her aunt, Patrice Lafleur returns to her childhood home on the outskirts of Shreveport, Louisiana, to find that not much has changed. Of course, still waters run deep, and the long-forgotten memories lurking beneath the surface of Patrice’s childhood are there to greet her when she walks through the front door 20 years later.
The Journal is a story of magic and mystery, good versus evil, long-overdue redemption, unconditional love, and unspeakable horror. While some memories are best left forgotten, how can they be when the house itself remembers?
As Patrice’s memories come flooding back to her, she realizes that sometimes, things are different than they seem. Other times, they are exactly what they appear to be...evil.
