À propos de cet audio
Law today is incomplete, inaccessible, unclear, underdeveloped, and often perplexing to those whom it affects. In The Legal Singularity, Abdi Aidid and Benjamin Alarie argue that the proliferation of artificial intelligence-enabled technology–and specifically the advent of legal prediction–is on the verge of radically reconfiguring the law, our institutions, and our society for the better.
Revealing the ways in which our legal institutions underperform and are expensive to administer, the book highlights the negative social consequences associated with our legal status quo. Given the infirmities of the current state of the law and our legal institutions, the silver lining is that there is ample room for improvement. With concerted action, technology can help us to ameliorate the law and our legal institutions.
Inspired in part by the concept of the "technological singularity," The Legal Singularity presents a future state in which technology facilitates the functional "completeness" of law, where the law is at once extraordinarily more complex in its specification than it is today, and yet operationally vastly more knowable, fairer, and clearer for its subjects. Aidid and Alarie describe the changes that will culminate in the legal singularity and explore the implications for the law and its institutions.

A must-read for all justice system participants
Whether you come from the adjudicative, policy, legislative, representative or (like me) AI/tech supply corner of the justice system, this thoughtful exploration of the implications and opportunities of an increasingly tech-enabled ecosystem should be on your reading list. Informative and engaging, and although coming from a unabashedly pro-tech position, the authors honestly and fairly explore the full range of criticisms, concerns and risk warnings most frequently raised about AI technologies in the justice system. Strongly recommended as a resource to create a baseline appreciation of the issues, potential and risks when thinking about our collective future efforts to creating a better justice system for all. Having quickly consumed the audiobook. I’m going to get the hard copy as I’m certain to want easy access for regular reference.

A Stimulating Presentation
This book provides a stimulating presentation of a possible future where the law is dramatically improved through the use of artificial intelligence. It does not shy away from the challenges that will be present on this road, but presents those challenges with a tone of optimism that seems totally justified. I would urge anyone interested in the development and improvement of the legal system to give this book a read.

Insightful Read
Adid and Alarie make a compelling case for the future of law. I enjoyed their cautious optimism of the potential for AI to transform the legal profession and create a better legal system for everyone. Highly recommend.
