The author and editor, William Frederic Badè, was an American clergyman, historian, and author. This book was published after Muir's death. Badè also wrote several other books, including The Life of Jesus, The Life of St. Paul, and The Life of Abraham Lincoln. He was born in 1871 and died in 1936.
