À propos de cet audio
Little changes can make a big, big difference! In The Little Book of Big Change, psychologist Amy Johnson shows you how to rewire your brain and overcome your bad habits - once and for all.
No matter what your bad habit is, you have the power to change it. Drawing on a powerful combination of neuroscience and spirituality, this book will show you that you are not your habits. Rather, your habits and addictions are the result of simple brain wiring that is easily reversed. By learning to stop bad habits at the source, you will take charge of your habits and addictions for good.
Anything done repeatedly has the potential to form neural circuitry in the brain. In this light, habits and addictions are impersonal brain wiring problems that result from taking your habitual thinking as truth, and acting on that thinking in the form of doing your habit - over and over. This book offers a number of small changes you can make in your everyday life that will help you stop your bad habit in its tracks.
If you want to understand the science behind your habit, make the decision to end it, and commit to real, lasting change, this book will help you to finally take charge of your life - once and for all.

What is genius? The word evokes iconic figures like Einstein, Beethoven, Picasso, and Steve Jobs, whose cultural contributions have irreversibly shaped society. Yet Beethoven could not multiply. Picasso couldn’t pass a fourth grade math test. And Jobs left high school with a 2.65 GPA. The Hidden Habits of Genius explores the meaning of this contested term, and the unexpected motivations of those we have dubbed "genius" throughout history, from Charles Darwin and Marie Curie to Leonardo Da Vinci and Andy Warhol to Toni Morrison and Elon Musk.

It investigates the dietary habits and other practices of the healthiest, longest-lived humans on the planet, who live in regions known as Blue Zones, as a model for what and how we should eat. It teaches the benefits of intermittent fasting and calorie restriction, which have been shown to slow the aging process, while consuming proper ratios of protein and healthy fats.

Welcome to the age of behavioral addiction - an age in which half of the American population is addicted to at least one behavior. We obsess over our emails, Instagram likes, and Facebook feeds; we binge on TV episodes and YouTube videos; we work longer hours each year; and we spend an average of three hours each day using our smartphones. Half of us would rather suffer a broken bone than a broken phone, and Millennial kids spend so much time in front of screens that they struggle to interact with real, live humans.

This book is a must read for every human. The problem is our thoughts and our thoughts about our thoughts. When we can dis-identify from our thinking, we can change.

Good insight
A good quick book for how to think differently about your habits. Can be applied to almost anything like smoking, drinking, negative thoughts, nail biting, etc. Takes the focus away from willpower and instead focuses on a change in mindset about your habits and the voice in your head that urges you to indulge in your unfavorable habits. I might re-listen to this one every now and again.

excellent book about breaking habits
I read all the books that come out on habits, i find it a fascinating subject. This book definitely added something new to the literature. (Note this book is only about breaking habits and doesn’t really touch on making new habits).
The concept that a habit is not personal and even has nothing to do with you specifically was so freeing. It’s not me. It’s just a learned loop that can be unlearned each time i choose not to repeat it. And that set backs aren’t personal either. Setbacks are normal and even expected. Not something you should think twice about. it’s just a one off time you strengthened the habit rather than weakened it. And you can choose to continue to weaken it.
The whole book is about perception of our habit behaviour. Fantastic read. I will be listening to it again.

The book I needed to finally kick my habit
This is an excellent book. Short and sweet, but the focus on the realization that we are not our thoughts was just the inspiration I needed to finally make a change.
I recommend this book to anyhow trying to kick a habit or dealing with repetitive thoughts.

Misses The Mark
This book gave me a lot of hope that it would be concrete and tangible in its solutions when it came to its chosen topic. But it left me with more questions than answers and that's why I left it a lower review. The title suggests that it will offer answers. So I felt it was a bit misleading in that way.
