when you pick a book because Mark Boyett read it..

when you choose a book only because Mark Boyett is the reader... you always have a great experience no matter the story. Altough I imagine he choose what he want to read because the story is always good. In this case, the story is a bit long at time without much surprise. It was well built with a good bunch of caracters. look forward to the rest of the serie

Why ???

I can't stand the incompetence of each central character. Way beyond the flawed hero role. From the so-called rule stickler who never followed a single order without an argument. Then, the corrupt society that they are trying to save. Why should the reader even want the adventurers to succeed?
