Narration spoilt by ref to discs etc
This classic story was well read by David Thorn. The American female voice about discs and chapters was annoying and intrusive.

Wise and beautiful kids story
Written in 1915 but still a beautiful childrens story listened as an adult but would be great for youth

Annoying Reader
The story is excellent. The audiobook is ripped from old CDs, complete with an announcer that tells which CD is now playing. But the reader is becoming more difficult to listen to the further into the book I go. When he just reads, he’s fine. But when he tries to perform voices, he sounds like he is talking with a mouthful of hot potatoes. His voice is strangely breathy and his articulation becomes terrible, and then his voice drops away to be almost inaudible. And all his “voices” sound the same. At first it wasn’t too bad, but the longer I listen, the more annoying it becomes. I downloaded the book from the free library, so that’s fine, but it’s not worth paying for.
