À propos de cet audio
Roger Ackroyd knew too much. He knew that the woman he loved had poisoned her brutal first husband. He suspected, also, that someone had been blackmailing her. Then, tragically, came the news that she had taken her own life with a drug overdose.
But the evening post brought Roger one last fatal scrap of information. Unfortunately, before he could finish reading the letter, he was stabbed to death.

Agatha Christie at her best
This is a great mystery story. Compared to other Christie books, it is the one that is not easy to guess the outcome (at least I didn't) or identify the killer. Very enjoyable.

Terrific performance of among Christie’s best
I wasn’t sure where to start with Agatha Christie’s body of work, but found The Murder of Roger Ackroyd at the top of one list & consistently among those most recommended. Very obvious why — & Fraser is amazing.

Captivating
Agatha Christie's writing is genius.
Hugh Frazer's performance was entertaining. He used a variety of voices that gave each character an audible personality.

Instant classic for Detective story lovers
First thing first - the less reviews you read about this book, the better. Reviewers often unwittingly spoil the story because they liked certain parts of the story, and want to sell it to potential readers, but in doing so ruins certain surprises and set unwelcoming expectations for readers.
Having said that, this is easily one of the most memorable detective fiction I've came across. The performance from Hugh Fraser is pleasant and keeps the reader engaged. The story structure flows well and the banters between characters are interesting and makes the world of Poirot come alive. Having the story somewhat spoiled by reviews, it's easy to guess what direction the story was heading but nonetheless it was refreshing to follow the breadcrumbs left by Agatha Christie. It's conflicting to want to feel this is one of Christie's best work, and also not want that to be the case as there are so much more stories of Poirot left to be enjoyed.
I would definitely recommend this a read - perhaps not necessarily the first venture into Poirot's stories, but regardless a required reading somewhere along your way.

Agatha you clever girl, you fooled me again
Loved it. speculated someone different at every chapter and was still surprised at the end. The narrator had great speed and inflections. Story was gripping, listen to it all in one day. Will now need to listen to it a second time to catch all clues that I had missed the first time through
