Thorough but early long
Good and comprehensive review of the early 19th century European wars and their impact on the world. European history impacted and dominated events that set the stage for much of the 20th century conflicts. Exhaustive analysis with some side tracks but worthwhile.

informative and broad.
Great book. takes a broader look at the effects of the war globally.
I have read several books on this period, but this is the only one I can think of that touches on the Brittish East India Company, Haitian revolution, China, Japan, and many more often overlooked aspects.

Painful
Although there was a ton of detail, which is why I purchased the book, it was torture to listen to. It was like listening to someone read an encyclopedia.
A few hours were interesting and I did learn a lot, but overall this was a tough one to get through.
