Description
He’s in awe of its history. He thinks it's beautiful in the rain. But he’s not ready for what’s stirring below the surface of Loch Ness.
When you’re the editor of a successful investigative journal, you don’t dash around Scotland chasing after loch monsters. But Gill McArdle didn’t believe in unicorns either, and speaking honestly, he was fortunate to walk away from that one.
He’s a scientist, and not one of the wild-eyed optimists spending their days, scanning the loch for a creature. And here’s his problem. With every passing hour, evidence mounts that something is stirring. Far to the north, an unusual animal carcass is discovered in Caithness. In the west, the disappearance of a fishing boat remains unexplained. And as Gill follows the data, his investigations lead him, reluctantly, to the banks of Loch Ness. Still skeptical about the increasing sightings below Urquhart Castle, he reopens an old archaeological site in his search for answers. In a crushing realization, he is forced to admit that danger lurks in the Great Glen’s deepest waters.

intelligent design
The stories are fun and well researched but what the author first started hinting at with the first book has become more apparent. He pretends that the hard core scientific people who demand proof have room for the pseudoscience Christian BS "fairy tale" that is intelligent design. it was fine when it was "other forces" but he's now straying into silly angel nonsense. When he has a scientist claim she has proof of God because of her dreams...sort of ruins it for thinking people. Too bad. The actual archeology parts are grand, but it's moving towards indoctrination. Too bad.
