À propos de cet audio
It was just an ordinary garbage dump on peaceful Cape Cod. No one ever imagined that conditions were perfect for breeding, that it was a warm womb, fetid, moist, and with food so plentiful that everything creeping, crawling, and slithering could gorge to satiation. Then a change in poison control was made, resulting in an unforeseen mutation. Now the giant mutant cockroaches are ready to leave their nest - in search of human flesh!

A disappointing creature-feature.
If you're going to write a novel about rampaging, giant cockroaches, do it with your tongue firmly planted in your cheek and produce a romping good and gory tale. I don't know whether Gregory A. Douglas had this in mind when he set out to write The Nest; but, sometime during the process he decided to add flowery descriptive narratives and an incongruous love interest to the story. Unfortunately, in doing so, the author dulls what could have been an excitingly grotesque horror novel. To add to my disappointment, the storyline falls short of follow-up on some key scenes that left this listener wondering why certain incidents were simply ignored. The book does have its moments, though, such as the fascinating and surprising facts about the insect world, and the blood-curdling descriptions of the first couple of roach attacks that are scary. Unfortunately, these moments are too few and far between to my liking. As for narration, Matt Godfrey is good... not great, but good.
