Cole Anders is in his last season at Fullton State. If he doesn't get drafted this year, he'll be forced to hang up his cleats for good. It's not something he's ready to do.
To prove he's serious about his final season, he's given up girls. No more casual hookups, dates, or one-night stands. But there's one girl who has always refused to give up on him. One girl who has been there since the start of freshman year. One girl he stupidly assumed would always be waiting for him when he got off the field, no matter how long it took.
Christina's had enough of Cole pushing her aside for baseball. She's grown tired of waiting for him to see what she's known since they were freshmen - that they are good together. She's finally moved on - for good this time.
Cole has other ideas, but she refuses to cave. It's not her problem if he wants her now. Too little too late.
There comes a point in your life when you have to stop the incessant merry-go-round and just get off the ride, right? Try telling that to Cole.

Cute rom-com with some sports thrown in
This book overall is a decent listen. I have a few others with Jason Clarke and Erin Mallon; I enjoy listening to them, they make a good pair.
The story itself is fairly well-written. Good pace, an alright amount of drama, especially for a college campus.
Spoiler alert. They only real issue I have with this book is the conflict towards the end, particularly the victim blaming. It’s later proven nothing actually happened, but realistically, if you’re black-out drunk, there is no such thing as consent and everyone was giving Christina a hard time about it, herself included. It’s really sad that no one acknowledged the problem with that. I was not impressed.
Sweet ending, everything was cleared up and the two of them were able to grow individually and together. It was just that one thing that really irked me. I’ll still give the second book a try.

Home run! Pun intended.
First Erin Mallon is the best female narrator. Always the best. Excellent male and female voices. Not just one voice of each, but all the females and males. They were all different, not many can do that.
Jason Clarke is also one of the best narrators. Again great with different males and females.
Ok. I love sport based romances. Hockey, Lacrosse, football and baseball.
Beautiful story with a HEA.

Entertaining Read
Cole and Christina are interesting, relatable, intriguing, entertaining, complex, fun characters. They captured my attention from the start. I enjoyed their romance with all the twists and turns. I enjoyed them as individuals and a couple. The secondary characters added to the fabric of the story. This is a good start to the series and I’m looking forward to the other books. The story is easy to read and get into.
I enjoyed the audio version of this book and the narrators.
