When tragedy strikes and the twins are faced with the prospect of a workhouse or an orphanage, a benefactor offers to take Artie in and educate him. All Artie's needs will be taken care of - but the gentleman has no use for a girl. As the orphan twins grow up and take different paths, their new lives are beyond anything they could have imagined. Will they ever find a way to be together again?

I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed this book, not typically being a fan of historical or romance novels.
It was a great read and was well narrated with lots of expression.

Wonderful storyline and lovable characters

Everyone is just so gosh darn goodie two shoes, kind and generous. And lucky too. There is maybe an iota of angst….wait, no there really isn’t. Bordering on a fairy tale, except that fairy tales have actual villains. There are a couple of rotten apples in this one, but blink, and they’re gone, with no effect on anyone.
No drama. No community is THAT altruistic ALL the time. Made it rather unbelievable.
Performance was top notch though.
