À propos de cet audio
When the Marquis of Amberley's coach is waylaid by highwaymen and his coachman shot, he is forced to take shelter at the first house he finds and is subsequently trapped there for a week by a severe snowstorm.
Oakleigh Manor is the home of Rosalind Vernon who lives alone but for her devoted servants and an ill-natured parrot, cut off from the outside world by the tragic result of a childhood accident. But Rosalind is brave and bright and totally devoid of self-pity - and it is these qualities which, as the days pass and the snow continues to fall, touch Amberley's heart.
On his return to London, the Marquis persuades Rosalind's brother, Philip, to bring her to town for a taste of society, despite her handicap. But the course of Amberley's courtship is far from smooth. Philip Vernon actively dislikes him; Rosalind appears to be falling under the spell of the suavely elegant Duke of Rockliffe; and worse still, Amberley is haunted by a dark and terrible secret that, if revealed, may cause him to lose Rosalind forever.

Amazing
So I unabashedly admit that I love this audiobook.
I'm a huge Georgette Heyer fan and I guess this was recommended to me somewhere, and I've been meaning to read it for a while. Finally, I decided on the audiobook since Audible wouldn't get the GH ones I wanted in Canada and I needed something to listen to. And I'm glad I got it because it was so good!
The story - Set in England in 1774, pretty much unknown era to me who is basically stuck in 1800-20. But the characters are just as charming and they have ruffles, velvet, and hair powder. This is a clean romance with nothing embarrassing to listen to. The main character has a disability, which was really well done, I thought. The plot ties up very nicely in the end, my kind of book.
The audiobook - Alex Wyndham is fantastic. He's got a very dreamy voice, absolutely perfect for characters like the Marquis and the Duke, not to mention the Viscount (yep it's that kind of book). All of his (male) characters have distinguishable voices and were well done. The only thing I didn't love was his voices for the women, who unfortunately sounded all the same and kind of weak and dry. I'm hoping this improves in the next books in the series (because you'd better believe I downloaded the next one immediately after finishing this one).

engaging story perfected with the voice of alex.
loved it! The connection between the characters was felt. Reminiscent of Georgette Heyer, with hints of Lucinda Brant. this will be on my re-listen list,
