À propos de cet audio
She takes the same train every day. But this is a journey she’ll never forget. The Passenger is a stunning psychological thriller with a nerve-shredding climax. Perfect for fans of Mark Edwards, K.L. Slater and Miranda Rijks.
Amanda is a hardworking single mum, completely focused on her job and her daughter, Louise. She’s been saving for years, and now, finally, she can afford to give up work and chase her dream. But then, on her commute home from London to Brighton, she meets a charming stranger - who seems to know everything about her. He delivers an ultimatum. She needs to give him the code for the safe where she keeps her savings before the train reaches Brighton - or she’ll never see Louise again. Convinced that the threat is real, Amanda is stunned, horrified. She knows she should give him the code, but she can’t. Because she also knows there is a terrible secret in that safe which will destroy her life and Louise’s, too....

Great story, ruined by the male narration
I liked the story, it kept me entertained. The male narrator pauses in the middle of sentences, adding commas where they don’t belong!! It drove me crazy. I highly doubt it was written this way. Does anyone edit these things??

Love it to the last full stop.
I am in awe with the plot , story , twists along the way, and especially Deirdra Whelan she was amazing ( I have soft spot for British accent 😍😅) she just gives any story she performs her soul.

Enthralling!
When I saw that the audiobook was available at no additional cost for Audible’s subscribers, I decided to give this one a chance.
As soon as I started it I was completely enthralled, so I ended up purchasing the ebook ($0.99), as I like to see the words.
I enjoyed the concept and its structure and the alternating POV.
The storyline is really gripping, although a bit farfetched (but far from being silly).
The writing was a bit repetitive but I think it was because of the multiple POV.
The narration of the audiobook is excellent, and I do recommend it.
As I was so engaged, I did not want to put it down, hence my ratings.
It’s a small book and a fast read.
It’s the first book that I’ve read by this author and I’m looking forward to reading some more.

Excellent,
Listened to it in one day! Very enjoyable. I thought it was a good plot with twists and narrators were great.

Pointless
A distasteful story populated with a cast of deeply unlikeable, unethical, selfish characters. The male narrator's voice is pleasant enough but his reading style is staccato with long awkward pauses not intended in the text.

take a pass
The characters annoyingly repeat ideas and thoughts constantly. It's a struggle to listen to a story whose characters lack basic common sense in adversity. I painfully finished it, hoping for some redemption or clever twist...nope.

Disappointingly Implausible
Daniel Hurst contrives a scenario where a pair of ex-cons learn that an aspiring author is quitting her job.. and is storing her nest-egg of tens of thousands in a safe in her bedroom. Yes, there are some obvious logical inconsistencies that need to be addressed, but - in theory - an author should be able to get readers to look past their reservations.
Unfortunately, while Hurst is a "capable" writer, he isn't good enough to make the story believable.. this "Suspense-Thriller" ends up being borderline acceptable at best.
I disagree with other reviewers that Rupert Hurst is ineffective as a narrator, though. To be certain, he isn't as good as outstanding partner Dierdra Whelan - and setting playback speed at 1.20X is required to make up for an awkward staccato reading cadence - but QUEST/W.F.Howes Ltd. did well to employ two narrators to record this book.
Altogether, 'The Passenger' merits 4.5 stars out of 10. It was appropriately offered as a 'Plus' option (included with your Audible subscription) - because spending a Credit on it would be hard to defend.
