À propos de cet audio
The Quick and Dirty Guide team is proud to present our guide to the United States Congress. A man who opposed the American Revolution once asked "Which is better - to be ruled by one tyrant 3,000 miles away or by 3,000 tyrants one mile away?" and while we don't know the answer to that question, we can tell you that America has cut down the number of tyrants to 535!
That's the number of Representatives and Senators in our Congress. This guide answers questions like "Why are there two parts of Congress?" "What are the Congressional committees?" and "What is Congress supposed to be doing anyway?" (Hint: The answer to that last question isn't "Grill Major League Baseball over steroid usage. That's less of a responsibility and more of a perk!")
