Both Halves Bad for Different Reasons

The first half of this book is completely unnecessary. It’s just a long bout of “and then this happened, and then this happened…” and you feel like maybe he’s just a bad writer but he will get someplace interesting, but no. The second half is completely different (just trauma porn) and you never go back to the first theme, which is where the whole crux of the book should be! The first half’s protagonist struggling with the concept of justice and personal responsibility. I really feel like this book missed the mark.
