À propos de cet audio
Today, we are obsessed with the lives and the morality of the rich, particularly the top one percent. An interesting viewpoint of this subject comes from William Graham Sumner, classic liberal social scientist, Yale teacher, first American sociology professor, and essayist, and although this piece was published in 1883, it contains some fascinating opinions on the rich and well-constructed points in favor of wealth.
Sumner discusses the economy at the time, as well as capitalism in general, the ethics and morality of wealth, and he also takes an objective look the goals and ambitions of the rich. Regardless of your viewpoint on the subject, The Rich Are Good Natured makes for an intriguing essay, and with links to various other essays and theories on the various subjects, Sumner’s meticulousness and craftsmanship in connection to the essay cannot be denied.
