My guilty pleasure series. A perfect drugstore procedural. Trope-filled, but somehow it doesn't make you roll your eyes. Grizzled male vet, improbably hot female rookie, but they're not actually annoying. Their healthy platonic relationship is refreshing, and the characters are multidimensional and well developed.
The plot is pretty straightforward, but exciting, and with a really inspired twist at the end.
I listen to these, and Scott Brick is a great narrator, but his pronunciation of certain words drives me up the wall, heh.
It's a good one and a great series opener.
