À propos de cet audio
Dawn mage. Twilight mage. Cursed, useless, damaged, dangerous…
His birth magic leaves Prince Nikola with nothing but bad choices: live as another man's possession, subject to his whims and his desires, or remain dependent on a potion that stunts his powers and prevents him from knowing love.
Andreas vows to protect the prince with his life—whether Nikola wants him to or not. After all, the queen pays his soldier's wage. Nikola's nothing but a job to do.
But when they find themselves stranded, with Nikola's potion running out, Andreas has to… improvise. Because what Prince Nikola needs to survive is the opposite of a lowly guard's respectful protection.
It should've been only one night. Just until the potion's refilled. But since Nikola had Andreas's touch, he craves Andreas again and again. He shouldn't. But he—and his magic—can't live without it…

Steamy Bodyguard Fugg or Die Romance!
New Review! The Royal Curse (Twilight Mages Book #1) by @eliotgraysonauthor as narrated by @narratorkirt
I’ve read this book in print before but I always struggle to get the full impact of Romantasy stories in paperback. My ADHD brain loves to go pläy in traffic whenever there’s loads of worldbuilding so I tend to struggle so after reading the third book in this series (which was SO good review coming soon) I went back to re-read this in audio and I really appreciated Eliot’s work in this story SO much more without my brain taking tangential side quests every second paragraph. The tropes in this title are SO delicious and Kirt is a TOP notch narrator to pull off Nikola’s vulnerable but determined personality.
TL:DR Prince Nikola is a seggsy twilight mage prince, born to suppress his magic with potions, unless he can find a better cure for his “magical curse”. Much like an omega in A/B/O worlds, these mages need to be fugged every day to keep their magic in control otherwise they die (oh the tragedy! 😌😎)
He wants to go to a Conclave of Mages to get the scoop on latest and greatest cures but his queen mother is like Nah and assigns him a hunky bodyguard so he doesn’t escape. But said bodyguard sees him sad and pouty and convinces the queen to let him go on his little adventure with the caveat that he, Andreas the hunky bodyguard, be in charge. She agrees and they’re off.
Nikola is pouty and bratty but totally Dislike-to-lovers digging his bodyguard and of course things go AWRY mid-trek and Nikola’s inventory of potions goes poof! 💥 and he is totally FUBAR unless someone fuggs him so he doesn’t die.
Ya getting where I’m going with this? 😎😏 Andreas reluctantly agrees to fugg him to keep him alive and things get out of hand from there. There’s feelings. Awkward learning of magic. Disappearing pants. Gallant heroics. SAVING each other. COURTSHIP?!!! ADMISSION OF SAID FEELINGS.
It’s deliciously good stuff and Kirt throws himself passionately into the performance which I love. Kudos my dude, I loved it.
Five stars for this audio! And I’m off to book 2!
