Annoying narration

I don’t often give up on books, I listened to this book to within just over one hour left to go but unfortunately I could no longer bear to listen.
I found the narration annoying - it sounded like she was reading a children’s story to a class of 5 year olds. Additionally nothing striking or revealing came from the content.
