À propos de cet audio
Book two in the blockbuster Maze Runner series that spawned a movie franchise and ushered in a worldwide phenomenon! And don't miss The Fever Code, the highly-anticipated series conclusion that finally reveals the story of how the maze was built!
Thomas was sure that escape from the Maze would mean freedom for him and the Gladers. But WICKED isn't done yet. Phase Two has just begun. The Scorch.
The Gladers have two weeks to cross through the Scorch—the most burned-out section of the world. And WICKED has made sure to adjust the variables and stack the odds against them.
There are others now. Their survival depends on the Gladers' destruction—and they're determined to survive.
Friendships will be tested. Loyalties will be broken. All bets are off.
The Maze Runner and Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials are now major motion pictures featuring the star of MTV's Teen Wolf, Dylan O'Brien; Kaya Scodelario; Aml Ameen; Will Poulter; and Thomas Brodie-Sangster. The third movie, Maze Runner: The Death Cure, will hit screens in 2018.

Interesting but frustrating
Exciting and very action packed story, though sometimes repetitive and unmemorable at times. It was incredibly frustrating for Thomas and friends to leave the Maze in the first novel only to be immediately thrown into a similar situation. It made the victory of the first book feel meaningless and unsatisfying. Every time Thomas would stop to re-tell the events of the first novel to every character he tries to convince to help them became duller than the previous. Thomas' lack of knowledge and awareness was very exciting and suspenseful in the Maze Runner and through the early parts of this book, but became incredibly annoying as this novel continued. While this drives you to keep reading, I feel like it's only effective to a certain degree. When every event ends with no questions answered, the satisfaction I'm hoping for is not found and it becomes harder to stay interested. As a reader, there is only so much patience I have for being kept in the dark for two entire novels. Some elements of this novel were well imagined though. I particularly loved the light bulb creatures. Very dark and desperate, which was engaging in it's own way. As an adult, I'm tortured by how young these children are, especially when they commit murder and experience other acts of senseless violence. I remember when I first read this series as a kid, this didn't bother me nearly as much because I didn't understand. The novel is very action focused. It does not do much to explore each candidate as a person. This makes them less human and relatable. It is hard to feel particularly sad when they are killed off, where as 20 children dying should really be a huge tragedy. I feel desensitized after reading this book. Teresa's "betrayal" also felt superficial and was not very emotionally impactful to me as a reader, no matter how distressing it may have been to Thomas. Dashner does not do a good job at writing female characters. Overall, I enjoyed the adventure this novel took me on. But I think there are also many problematic elements in it that we must acknowledge as an audience.
The audiobook adaptation was very enjoyable though. Some character accents were a little hard to listen to. Overall, very engaging voice and reading.
