Sexiest Audio Performance EVER!
The older I get, the more I appreciate these reformed bad boy novels. Ah yes, 300 pages of heart warming therapy, self-affirmations, boundary formations, and character development… IS IT GETTING HOT IN HERE??? that sh*t is like ASMR to my middle aged brain. I don’t need mindless smut I need SELF-LOVE AND CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT *reaches out to give Carter all the hugs his parents never gave him*
I listened to this on Audio and Carter Maxwell’s voice is literally the sexiest and even though I KNOW the man has a problem with using sex as a bandaid for all his problems I would 💯 still throw myself at him. IDEC. I’m well meaning but I have weak flesh. I’d be that person serving Gatorade and slim Jim’s at Carter’s 12 person orgy just happy to be part of the team.
Anyway, Beth is the QUEEN of pining and yearning in this forbidden 🚫 romance, forced proximity, fake relationship masterpiece. The way 80% of the book is Carter hitting on his live in companion, Ian, who is there to keep him on the straight and narrow (see no sex, no clubs!) and Ian DESPERATELY trying to not fall for his charm… it’s just… SO FREAKING DELICIOUS. the UST is just… unnnnnf
And well, I think this might be my favorite darcy stark performance yet… it’s literally perfect. No notes. Easily rockets into my top 5 for audio books. I could listen to this book on repeat forever.
