Concise summary of current mescaline information with some problematic subjective user accounts
The book is a very concise summary of mescaline, mescaline-containing cacti, and user experiences with mescaline-containing cacti. The introduction section and FAQ section are more objective in focus and are both decent summaries of general current mescaline knowledge, given the book’s very short length. The problem comes with a couple of the stories chosen to represent subjective user accounts with mescaline. Specifically, the big issue is that this book gives a platform to stories that represent irresponsible psychedelic use with examples of potentially harmful and dangerous sets, settings, and behaviours (to self and others). It is important to not normalize such use of psychedelics and the book would have been better to either not include these specific stories or to provide clear and explicit discussion of specific problematic elements within each story and how they could have been more intentionally executed toward safer and more beneficial experiences.
