À propos de cet audio
Failure to Launch leads to Depression, Anxiety, and Isolation.
Don’t Let it Happen to You or Your Child!
If you are a teen or a parent of a teen, then it is time to think about the preparation for moving into adulthood. Don’t get caught in the increasing wave of teens who can’t leave home successfully.
Cassie Harris has worked with both companies trying to develop new management styles that better fit new workers and with groups and programs helping teens and young adults move into successful adult lives.
“The number of young adults who are struggling with launching successfully has increased substantially in recent years. They fail to engage in activities that typically define adulthood, such as higher education or work. This behavior is often associated with depression, anxiety, or isolation.” Psychology Today
Things change rapidly as you move out of the house. Even if you think you are prepared, you need to do a reality check and make sure you have all the skills you need before striking out on your own. Start developing the necessary skills before you leave high school so you have plenty of time to be comfortable with the new role you will be assuming. The more prepared you are, the more you understand new expectations of your role, the more comfortable you will be, and the more successful.
