A captivating listen

I like to check reviews before purchasing a book. The reviews I read about The Shoemaker’s Wife were mixed and affected my enjoyment of the story. I am happy that as I reached the last chapter, I was relieved that my fears were unfounded. I Loved this book.
Reviews are subjective and I some of the negative comments about the book confuse me.
It was well written and the story is lovely.
Sure, it s a bit wordy and could perhaps have been condensed, but the depth of descriptive language gives the story a richness.
