À propos de cet audio
The hooker was young, pretty...and dead, butchered in a Greenwich Village apartment. The prime suspect, a minister's son, was also dead, the victim of a jailhouse suicide. The case is closed, as far as the NYPD is concerned. Now the murdered prostitute's father wants it opened again--that's where Matthew Scudder comes in. But this assignment carries the unmistakable stench of sleaze and perversion, luring Scudder into a sordid world of phony religion and murderous lust where children must die for their parents' most unspeakable sins.

Good P.I.Mystery. Criminally Bad Quality.
This Lawrence Block novel is written in the style of 60s/70s Crime Thrillers - transitional between old school Chandler/Hammett mysteries and the gritty, violent, sexy Patterson/Connelly offerings of the 80s and 90s. There are both "hard-boiled" elements to ex-NYPD detective Matthew Scudder and some passing effort at personal character development. The plot resolution is genuinely stupid, but Block otherwise pens a descriptive, well-plotted and well-paced story that focusses on the investigation and grips the reader/listener nicely.
Unfortunately, the production standards are BRUTAL. I listen to a LOT of Audiobooks (check out my Listener Page) and I have never *had to* use earphones before - but the recording volume of this audiobook is ridiculously quiet (I actually couldn't make out dialogue using my device's speakers). Alan Sklar's narration is quite credible - decent diction, cadence, timbre, tone, and voice-acting.. but I couldn't hear the performance unless wearing headphones at maximum (theoretically dangerous) volume.
'Sins Of The Fathers' is likely worth 8 stars out of 10, but the frankly lazy sound editing drops my rating to 3.5/10 stars. If you can get it for free (as I did) and have some decent earbuds, it's worth a listen. If, on the other hand, you plan on listening through car speakers or on your device, at the very least try the sample before you download.. but I think you should save your time & money for a better option (maybe one where the producers respect you).

N/a
The story. Would have preferred a more plot driven story line, and didn’t really like the content.
