À propos de cet audio
The Soma People is the story of a Western man’s adventure in Mystic India. Paul, owner of an American pharmaceutical company, is forced to make a journey to India to find a man who once supplied herbal medicines to his company. The search for the soma drug leads him to a group of spiritual adepts. He sees supernatural powers in action, such as the ability to read people's minds, to plant thoughts in them, to create a protective shield, to fly, to be lightning fast, to be superhumanly strong. Paul is given firsthand experiences of these and also rational explanations. He begins his own inner journey.
At the same time a woman, an Indian activist, gets involved with the spiritual group. The organization undergoes a crisis. Paul gets sucked into the events. The crisis passes, but it has an impact on all the characters involved.
In this story, a novice finds a group of spiritual seekers. Their masters command powers commonly termed as supernatural. But once the spiritual transformation begins, these become as natural as thinking. These powers are described in the story without using their yogic terms. Their Sanskrit names are listed here for those who want to link them to yogic achievements, called siddhis: prakamya, vyapti, aishwarya, vashita, ishita, mahima, laghima, trikala drishti, parakaya pravesha. The masters invite the novice into their world and guide him step by step, until he faces an adventure so exciting he becomes a child again. Every day he learns something new.
Starting from material science and using the rational method, they lure him beyond the mind’s boundaries. He begins to see hidden truths and perceive what he merely saw before. But not all who live around the masters are as capable as them. They have to battle against their weaknesses - anger, delusion, greed...and battle each other’s lower nature.
But whoever said the discovery of the self would be a dull excursion? So welcome pilgrim-warrior, to the adventure of consciousness.
