The battle of the Training Grounds is over, but the war for Merchant Valley has just begun. As Bao tries to rebuild the school and attract new students, Millicent and her friends must reintegrate Darius into a drastically different world than the one he knew.

After Lincoln and Anwir receive shocking information from the Forgotten Son, events are set in motion that could prove to be more catastrophic than the creation of the reaper. While Lincoln and Anwir tear through villages in the pursuit of anarchy, Darius and his friends train for war on a scale beyond anything they’ve seen before.

Lincoln and Anwir aren’t the only threats Bao and his students need to contend with. When they learn the Eternal Council and the army of the Unified Republic are on the march, they know their time is limited.

With each group pursuing interests of their own, the foes the heroes must face have never been more numerous—or more powerful. As the final hands are played, the only certainty is that no one is safe. With the fate of everything and everyone hanging in the balance, it’s up to Darius and his friends to save the world one last time.

Action packed!

Wow! This kept me on the edge of my seat the entire book. So much action! I really enjoyed seeing into the past of the immortals more, who they were and how they became the way they are now. What drives their current morals, so to speak.
The battle scenes in past books were so epic, and this one was FULL of battles! Between the element wielding and the modern / futuristic style weapons, you never knew who was going to come out on top.
