I felt all the extra cursing was misplaced. All it added to the story was turning what was otherwise a tween story into something I can't play for the kids. The timing points annoyed me with their inconsistencies. Romance felt forced like it was added as an afterthought for character development. At least two parts in the story have repeated lines in Narration. All that being said it was still an entertaining story.

An interesting twist on a classic trope. I have much hope for this series, since the first book was so much fun.

Well I was trying to find a new series to keep me busy while I waited for Chaos Seeds/Expeditionary Force/10 realms/ether collapse/spell monger to release new books. I tried a few new ones like War Aeternus...etc.... and was none to happy with the few new ones I tried, until I got frustrated and started looking at Authors I like, well thats how I stumbled upon this gem by Michael Chatfield, I wont give any spoilers but I will be adding this series to my top list like the ones I listed above.

The story pace is great with great character development, the MC is technically not stuck in the game but also stuck in “the”game, so there is the possibility of logging out of the game but not in the traditional sense, that makes sense right? Look its all backwards from here, once you start the series you will understand .
Lots of funny moments with very colourful language for an extra laugh, oh and some pretty decent sex scenes if your into that kind of thing.

Very well written and the voice acting was mostly on point.

This book is great if you want something relaxing, but it's too relaxing for me. The MC lacks drive since his main goal is to relax, and the author even managed to make big fights sound relaxing ... Aside from the lack of excitement, there are some inconsistencies e.g. some numbers failing to add up and some editing mistakes such as a sentence being repeated twice, bad (feels like missing) scene transitionsj.
The narrator does help either - the whole narration sounds very relaxed
