- The keys to maintaining cardiovascular well-being
- How to interpret your cholesterol numbers
- The frightening adverse effects of popular drugs
It is time to take charge of your heart health. Learn the facts behind the hype so that you can make informed decisions on a subject vital to your continued health. If you or someone you love either takes a statin or is considering doing so, you need to read this book.Includes recipes for a delicious and heart-healthy diet, including Wasabi-Roasted Salmon, Pasta with Avocado Sauce, and Lemon-Pineapple Breakfast Muffins.

Great information about statins!
Great information about statins and the games that are played by big pharma and some doctors. On the nutritional side, the information was not the most up to date however I acknowledge it was not the focus of this book. Definitely worth reading and thank you Barbara for taking the time to share your knowledge!

More info
I liked everything she said …however I was not enthralled with the amount of examples of patients. She really did not go too heavily into reducing cholesterol levels or managing that. I wish it was more in-depth rather than stories of different patients.

there are better books about statins
Performance is flawlwss.
The info about the pharma companies is something that people need to know, and the writer is consistent with others that I have read.
Writer says that Dr. Robert Atkins dies of a heart attack. It is a falsely that was spread by the plant-based diet supporter who hate that he encouraged a meat diet. He slipped, hit his head and died after a week in a coma.
The author puts a LOT of emphasis on the deleterious effects of saturated fats. There is now a lotbof info that dispells that theory. She also speaks of total cholesterol and good and bad cholesterol as HDL and LDL.
makes me wonder about the validity of the rest of the book. As mentioned above, I can judge the validity of much of the book through other readings, such as:
