À propos de cet audio

The White Lich has fallen.

The remnants of his army have fled into the forests. It should be a time of celebration. But as Dante regroups his people, the Angel of Taim arrives with a message.

They may have defeated the lich, but Taim is still going to destroy the mortal world of Rale.

Facing starvation in the dead of winter, Dante leads his people toward the abundant fields of Gallador Rift. Along the way, though, a horrifying illness breaks out among the travelers. As earthquakes rattle the land and volcanic eruptions black out the sky, it becomes clear that the plague was only the first attack launched against Rale. Their only hope is to travel back to the Realm of the Gods and try to bargain with them - and if that fails, to wage war on them. But the only known doorway to the Realm is hundreds of miles away. In the throes of collapse, flooded with monsters from hell’s darkest depths, the entire world might be torn apart before Dante and Blays have the chance to start fighting back.

Thank you.

As with every other novel on this series, Edward perfectly balanced pacing, world building, character development, and humour. The latest in the series brings some of the most compelling settings, characters, and creatures yet. The philosophical, and logical discussions of the trio were easily some of the best moments. Tim as usual does an amazing job of narrating, and brings the characters to life, their banter wouldn't be the same without his voice. The dialog is so brilliant it makes you feel as if you're right there bantering with them.

great stuff as always

listens very much like a well played DND game with an enjoyable take on magic and reality. they're level 20 now, so the stakes have never been higher!

Another excellent addition to the cycle

There are a few minor audio bugs throughout the book but they dont take away from it at all. I was a little disappointed with the cliff hanger ending but at the same time it excited me because it confirms another book for a series I have been totally addicted to. Finished the book within days of it coming out and I am currently starting a second listen after listening to the cycle of the scour books.

Rushed

Loved all the prequels, but this book had the previous 7 all jammed into one. was looking forward to some philosophical banter and all I got was action and so much new world info that I was quickly overwhelmed and retained almost nothing after it was done:(

all over the place

I find the series is just getting a little old. It's almost like he's just trying to throw us all over the place to try to keep things exciting, but unfortunately it's not tracking with me. it's just getting a little much. I love the relationship between Dante and blayz with gladic thrown in. it adds even a little bit more. I like the end of this book though. I'm hoping that the next one will be a little bit more on track and not so thrown together or at least feel that way

Good but the story is ALL over the place

Well over 100 characters are introduced throughout the series. These characters are so rushed and pushed aside for the next adventure that you'll probably only end up caring about 3-4 of them.
What is the point of listening to 30 different people's back stories when you will NEVER hear from them again in 5 chapters? An extraordinary amount of time is spent setting up this MASSIVE universe that could easily have 100 more books written about, yet way too much has to be sacrificed in order to do this. So much so, that you don't even have desire to explore said massive universe because at points this was just exhausting to listen to, especially knowing you won't hear from these characters again for the rest of the series.
