À propos de cet audio

Hope Ross isn't crazy, but she knows crazy. Crazy is....

  • A father telling his daughter to pretend her twin sister doesn't exist. Worst. Game. Ever.
  • A sister never leaving the house.
  • A disturbed woman hidden away in the attic.
  • Bodies rotting in the basement.
  • Being accused of attempted murder.
  • The police blaming the victim.

No, Hope's not crazy, and she's through playing games. As soon as she gets out of this mental facility, she's going to prove it.

Amateurish, Ludicrous Story

This story about a possible psychopath/possible victim of circumstances is weirdly enjoyable. V.J. Chambers is guilty of using every "Evil Twin" trope that you can imagine. She also writes with cookie-cutter plotting, stereotypical characters, melodramatic dialogue, and possibly the most illogical ending that I have ever encountered.
It took a lot of effort to set aside reservations.. but I managed it.. and found myself surprisingly entertained by the stoopid. It's just so bad that I reveled in it (like adoring a horribly ugly dog).

Reader Emily Beresford doesn't help the situation, unfortunately. Her timbre, cadence, and tone are professional enough, but Beresford reads far too slowly (listen at 1.20X), overenunciates, and displays subpar male character interpretations.

All in all, 'The Twin Game' merits 1.5 stars out of 10. This kind of superficial junk-food-quality pulp might knock a couple of points off of your IQ if you made it your go-to reading habit.. but this irrefutably horrible audiobook actually wasn't terrible as a one-off.
The caveat is that I got it as a 'Plus' offering, however. If you spend a Credit on it, you're an idiot.
