Read the book, don't listen!
I continuously forget the author uses Cat Doucette as narrator and keep buying the audiobooks only to return them. I thoroughly enjoy Suzanne Wright's books, but would encourage readers to buy the print/ebook versions. For me, the narrator grates... pronunciations are strange, different tones/inflections for various characters doesn't match them, or dialogue falls flat.
This series is an interesting concept. Biblical influence in the storyline, worldview is alternative world with preternatural creatures and a good vs. evil vibe. Though, which is which? Some elements of mystery. Lots of smutty scenes - not always my jam - I love a good romantic arc, as long as it doesn't sacrifice the story. I could have done with less of this to further the plot. An ok read.

Good story, whiny Narrator
I enjoyed the story but hate the narrator. She just makes all the female characters sound whiny and childish and doesn't do a great job with male characters. I listened to another book she's done and had to return it because she was so bad. I was hoping she had improved but she hasn't. I will not buy the rest of the series in audio book form however I will continue the series on my e-reader.

Another win for Suzanne Wright
I don't usualy listen to "majic" books. As this was Suzanne Wright i had to try it. OMG I loved it!
I have a number of her audiobooks and love them and she did not fail me this time either. Great Characters, strong female lead. It is now a few days after i finished the book and I find myselph thinking about it, sort of missing the stiry and wanting it to go on. I really hope there is another one soon.
