Great supernatural mystery. Guessed some parts but was surprised by others. Unpretentious and just the right amount of spooky.

This book was captivating and creepy! Really enjoyed it. Worth a credit to listen to. Enough twists to keep me listening nonstop.

I have heard Cassandra Campbell before and enjoyed her narration - both were great. There were times where the character Sara sounded a bit like the inflections of Moira Rose from Schitt’s Creek and that was at bit distracting, haha, but otherwise enjoyed the narration.

Creepy & enthralling

I really enjoyed this book, my favourite out of the last 10 or so books I've read. I am a horror fan, so I enjoyed the simple, creepy moments such as a knocking on the closet door or the glimpse of a shape in the trees. The story was very interesting and kept me engaged right until the end. The book jumps in time to different characters but it is never confusing due to the chapter heads and character voices. It's not perfect, the characters made a few dumb choices to ensure the plot moved forward, but overall it was a rich story with believable, developed characters. Some other reviews mention the fact the narrator whispers. I also found this off-putting at first but note that it is only for the first chapter, for one particular character. The whispering does not continue for the entire book and I found the narrator did a great job with emotion and variation in the character voices. If you're the type of person that likes ghost stories around the campfire, you should like this book.

My first book read by the author- the story was captivating, interesting, unpredictable and kept me on the edge of my seat. Would HIGHLY recommend this book!!!!! Such a good storyline!!!! I will definitely be reading more of the authors books after this! One of the best scary books I’ve ever read.
