À propos de cet audio
Hamburg 1947: It is the year of extremes. After a bitterly cold winter of starvation, the bombed city groans under excruciating heat. And Chief Inspector Frank Stave is confronted with a new case. In the ruins of a shipyard, the corpse of a boy is found and Stave's hunt for the killer leads him into the world of "wolf children" - orphaned children who have fled from the Occupied Eastern Territories and are now united in gangs. When two more bodies are discovered Stave is under even increasing pressure as he struggles to keep his personal life together too....

Good mystery based on WW2 events
This was a satisfying mystery as my parents lived in war torn Bremerhaven until my Dad immigrated to Canada in 1955. I remember the hardships my Mom told of everyday life after the War. She lined up for soup made from cows’ entrails, struggling to get enough to eat, stay warm especially as she was a newMom in 1948. Rationing, always rationing, and hoping to find some sheets to make into diapers for me. I liked that the author established a rapport between the British officer, and CI Frank Stave, establishing a basis for better times in the future. Stave be.ie Ed the British treated their former Germany, fairly. Also refreshing to hear the German place names, common German terms pronounced well. A less skilled narrator would have mangled the pronunciation, and so detracting from the flow, accuracy of the story. Narrator made it easy to tell the characters apart as each received a distinctive voice. Really the two entries in the Frank Stave mysteries, and enjoyed listening to my native language. History presented in an absorbing fashion. Can we expect more CI Stave ysteries?
