À propos de cet audio
Too often we're so focused on past or the future that we miss the power of the present moment. Popular motivational speaker Terry Hershey encourages us to see the grace, beauty, and magic to be found in the magnificent ordinary encounters of our daily life.
Before we decipher life, let us see life.
Before we wish for another life, let us feel this life.
Before we give in to “if only,” let us listen to this moment.
Before we succumb to “someday,” let us inhale this day.
Before we trade in this life for the life we “should” have, let us taste this life.
We are born to savor life, to live in the moment. What holds us back? When we stop the noise, the distraction, the compulsion to perform, the fear of rejection, we make space to savor the power of the present moment. We carry this capacity to honor the present into every encounter and relationship, meaning that we honor the dignity that is reflected by God’s goodness and grace. Every encounter, every relationship, is a place to include, invite mercy, encourage, receive, heal, reconcile, repair, say thank you, pray, celebrate, refuel, and restore.
This book is an invitation to practice, to savor, the sacred present. We are called to be available. To be curious. To be alive. To be willing to be surprised by joy. To know there is power in the word enough.
Ask yourself this: What will you choose to honor today?

Now my #1 recommendation for Audible
Was skeptical at first, the length of this being shorter than some books I've chosen here and the initial experience of this slow, accentuated tone of voice.
Then I noticed how it shifted me into a better place mentally, physically, spiritually. I could not read this book myself and have this same effect. It provides, in simply listening, a permission to slow ourselves down and actually live in the life you are in, this moment. He does not deny the bad stuff of life and offers a different way of approaching it rather than the usual defenses which go up for us. I would be very curious what would happen if a community all listened to this and applied it.
It may be "only" 6 hours and you may find a lot of other books longer (and theoretically better value for your credit), but this is a book I will certainly listen to multiple times and you probably will end up doing the same if listening just to the sample brings you into a state of now-ness.
Deepest thanks to Terry and Audible for providing this wonderful experience.
