À propos de cet audio
Single mom Cedar McLeod leads an ordinary but lonely life, balancing the demands of her career and her six-year-old daughter, Eden. One day, a fight between the two leads to the stunning discovery that Eden can open portals to anywhere she imagines. But before they can learn more about Eden’s extraordinary gift, the young girl mysteriously disappears. Desperate to find answers and her daughter, Cedar seeks out Eden’s father, who left before Eden was born. What she discovers challenges everything she’s ever known about the world around her: Magic is real - and mythical beings from an ancient world will stop at nothing to possess Eden’s abilities. Now, Cedar may have to put her faith in all of them if she hopes to save her daughter’s life.
The first in the Thin Veil series, Through the Door is a pulse-pounding adventure that takes listeners across the globe and into the ancient realm of Celtic myths, where the stakes are high and only the deepest love will survive.

Take the leap
This is a fast paced, imaginative and unique story of supernatural beings that are inspired from ancient Celtic myths. I was hooked at chapter 2.
I read other reviews that criticize the book because there are a few female characters that pine after a man. But they move on and become strong characters themselves. The grandmother's story is frustrating in that she was under the thumb of a man for a portion of her life, but that is a common story in the real world unfortunately, especially back in the day. And Fin, a male character, seems to be more distraught than any of the women about lost love.
I love the inner thought of the main character, Cedar. I felt like I've had similar thoughts in similar situations and couldn't have so clearly explained my thoughts and feelings. The little girl also seemed very real in her behaviours and reactions. She reminded me of my girls of similar age.
I was surprised by all the twists and turns and interested at every turn to find out what happened next. I also enjoyed the twist ending that I didn't expect.
I hope you take the leap through the "disembodied door" and listen to this audiobook. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
