À propos de cet audio
Living in Hawaii for three years was a grand adventure for free-spirited fourth grader Sarah, daughter of a Navy officer who was often deployed on missions overseas. On her way home from school one day, she goes beachcombing and finds an old abandoned cemetery on the shoreline, where she is drawn to the headstone that reads “Henry”.
She continues to visit the cemetery playing tic tac toe with little sticks and rocks, and even throws Henry a birthday party complete with cake. Henry lends his voice to the story by telling us details of Ewa Beach history and how he came to rest on the shores of Pearl Harbor until Sarah, collecting coral pieces for her game set accidentally picks up his toe bone!
Sarah didn’t expect that the tiny white rock she collected would cause so much mayhem and bring a ghost to her house. After a string of bad luck and ghostly appearances at her house, Sarah and her parents visit Kilauea volcano and learn about the volcano goddess, Madame Pele. In Hawaii, moving rocks or taking any items from the island has consequences and can bring on Pele’s anger.
Back on Oahu, Sarah and her friend, Jamie use this lesson and brave an approaching hurricane to return the bone and make things right with the island spirits."
